User Experience Engineer

We are seeking an experienced UI technologist to be our primary User Experience Engineer: Customer Workflow. This is an opportunity to bring our SaaS-platform to life and build additional products for live stream events, where our customers will stream to millions of viewers every year, and the engineering challenges are diverse and deep.
Transmit.Live is hosted predominantly on Amazon Web Services and every product of the platform is architected for scalability and high availability for a global client base. A successful candidate will have prior experience building stateful, workflow-driven User Interfaces, and will be able to bring that knowledge to bear from inception through provisioning, build, test and deployment out to production.
Our middle and backend tiers consist of technologies such as cloud-deployed video encoders (HLS, RTMP, WebRTC, MPEG-DASH), event-driven messaging, RESTful APIs, Service/Control Bus routers and auto-scaling components utilizing: Java, Gradle, Spring, Python, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Jenkins, Netty, FFmpeg (to name just a few)
Our front-end workflow UI is built in React/Redux and integrates with multiple internal and external APIs, services and endpoints.
As a User Experience Engineer at Transmit.Live, you will help design and build our live video production experience to provide innovative, intuitive media workflows at scale. Not only will the role involve in-depth development, but also research and experimentation, where your passion for new technologies will drive your motivation to take our video platform to the next level.
  • Decomposition and Sub-specification of User Stories and requirements into iterate-able Tasks
  • Engineering the integration of Service and UI components in two-week Sprint cycles
  • Collaborating closely with stakeholders, engineers, and product development to guarantee that the User Experience is a seamless, customer-centric process
  • Taking ownership over your work/project by building, maintaining and iterating new features and new products from soup to nuts
  • Be a thought leader for introducing new technology
  • Active participation in the local tech community as a Transmit.Live Ambassador
  • Expert grasp of JavaScript and its modern ecosystems (React, Redux, npm, webpack, etc)
  • Proven examples of beautiful User Interaction, Experience and Interfaces (portfolio preferable)
  • Proven experience with multiple service/API integrations and stateful Graphical User Interfaces
  • Bonus for ReactJS experience
  • A penchant for testing, especially TDD and BDD
  • Experience with agile methodologies, including pair programming, is a plus.
  • Prior work with the cloud, either AWS or GCP, preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience.

Technical Account Manager

We are seeking a Technical Account Manager to work directly with our Sales team and customers to ensure our products meet our clients’ needs. Attention to detail and an eye for quality, along with the ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into benefits for customers is crucial. In your role you will be an advocate and resource for customers on all aspects of our technology. This is an opportunity to help customers use our products effectively to live stream events to millions of viewers every year.
  • Collaborate with Sales and the Executive team to build and maintain trusted client relationships (i.e. Navigate and understand client organization and individual stakeholder needs)
  • Work with customers to define success criteria, help them configure and launch, triage potential issues or bugs during implementation and act as an overall technical advisor
  • Ensure that the technical aspects of our customers deployments are provided with the necessary technical documentation and guidance as needed
  • Perform implementation reviews with customers and evangelize new product features that they can leverage to achieve specific business goals
  • Work with Sales to develop and execute account plans and to identify and qualify potential opportunities along the deployment
  • Review project scope of incoming deals with Sales
  • Improve product offering by providing customer feedback on features to Product Management & Engineering
  • Able to prioritize and juggle many projects
  • Experience working with Customer and Configuration Management systems preferably in the Video, Media and Advertising industries
  • Exceptional project management skills
  • A passion for live events and knowledge of the infrastructure required for wider audience distribution
  • Analytics-driven approach to measuring success
  • Experience in ad operations and programmatic advertising
  • Technical live production experience is a plus
